Our Journey

Secure parking is one of those problems that has plagued cities forever. From the start, we set out to do things differently, with well designed, smart infrastructure that could scale as a turnkey network. After listening to communities, civic leaders, and transportation advocates for over a year, we designed a solution that would bundle design, financing, management, and operations all into the same simple package.

The result is Oonee, the first and only platform that offers everything cycling-related within a single ecosystem.

March 2023: Oonee launches the Midtown Bus Terminal location with the Port Authority and community leaders.
January 2024: Oonee completes first phase of the Jersey City municipal bike parking system.
April 2024: Minneapolis awards Oonee the license to develop a secure bike parking network in the city.
May 2024: Inspired by Oonee’s work, New York City releases their vision for a massive city-wide bike parking network.
July 2024: Oonee submits proposal to New York City RFP. We are excited to hear back from the city.
November 2024: Oonee submits proposal to Washington, D.C. RFP. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the RFP has been put on pause.
January 2025: Oonee wins the Communities Take Charge Award for $3.7 million to create and expand secure bike parking & charging networks in Minneapolis and Jersey City. Due to external challenges, the award has been delayed.
July 2025: Oonee launches the Grove St. Pod, marking the completion our goal to provide an Oonee station at every single PATH station in Jersey City.

Our Team

We are a Brooklyn-based, Black- and Brown-led team of advocates, designers, and policy experts. We think differently because our team’s DNA is different. Our founding team comes from the world of policy, operations, and design, having more than 20 years of combined experience working with local and state governments on streetscape projects. Our distinct perspective allows us to work closely with business leaders, advocates, community members, and public sector officials to build secure bicycle parking at scale.
