How we work with developers

Financing

How does Oonee get financed?

Oonee is typically financed via advertising and sponsorship on the exterior of the stations. This is the tried and true way that cities have financed street furniture assets and transit for decades. The benefits of this approach is that it enables us to deliver the program free of charge to the users and to the municipality. Oonee is not an advertising agency, instead we partner with established OOH companies. We also have the flexibility to work with a city/agency’s exclusive media partner.

We also offer the option to directly pay for the infrastructure in cases where advertising and sponsorship is not viable. Contact us for a custom quote.

What is Oonee’s business model?

Oonee generates revenue on two ways.

1) through digital media and sponsorship on the exterior of the infrastructure.

2) selling additional bicycle related goods and services like maintenance, insurance, and rentals to the users through the Oonee App. We have developed an equitable business model that does not rely on charging for parking.

Can I pay for for Oonee directly? How much would it cost?

Yes. The cost would depend on type of products, number of units

Solutions for Property Developers

We handle all communications with potential users. From sign up to service alerts, you can rest assured that we remain in constant communication with our users and ensure they have as seamless a service experience as possible. Offering a truly white glove service, we offer email, chat, social media and other online support to members to ensure everyone knows of announcements like a weather-related service outage to the latest parking facility deployment. We take an extra in customer service by offering a truly 360-degree ecosystem with regards to bike parking. This includes offering complementary bike insurance to users parking inside the kiosk, a universal app for parking and other bike services, and 24/7 service and monitoring, all for free to the user.

2. Management of user access: We operate our parking facilities through an easy-to-use app that offers locking and unlocking of parking kiosks in addition to local bike services that can be accessed while the user is away. After a user signs up to use the parking facility, they will go through a verification process to ensure no nefarious actors are given access to the kiosk and to keep everyone’s bike safe. Following their verification, they are given access to the Oonee app ecosystems, which gives them access to the facilities in addition to other services. The parking kiosks serve as fulfillment centers for bike products and services offered by local bike shops. For those without smart phone access, we supply key cards and fobs to ensure everyone, regardless of economic status, can access the kiosks.

3. Management of abandoned bikes: In addition to day to day operations and maintenance of the kiosks like cleaning and troubleshooting, we make sure there are no abandoned bikes or people using the kiosks for long term storage. We have a strict three-day parking policy in place at our current New York City locations to ensure no singular individual takes the spot of another user. When we find bikes to have overstayed the three-day limit, we get in contact with the user by email and number and let them know they are to retrieve their bike immediately before we remove it and bring it to a different location. Should a user not respond, we take their bikes or scooter to a nearby partner where we store the bikes until their owners can retrieve them.

4. Management of unauthorized storage items:Similar to the above, we have a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding the storage ofunauthorized items. We are proud of our kiosks and want people to feel at home and know their bikes are safe. Accordingly, we remove all unauthorized items and store them until further notice from the owner or disposal.

5. Management of theft: We are proud to have an immaculate track record when it comes to bike parking. We have specific guidelines in place to prevent any theft from occurring, which include the following preventative measures: 24/7 motion-detected video surveillance, locked key entry and exit logs, user verification processes, vandalism-resilient materials, and constant monitoring of the kiosk to ensure everyone’s bike is safe. We also offer insurance up to $2500, which we have only had to use once in over 100,000 use cases.

6. Maintenance for pod & racks (graffiti, posters, structural damage): Oonee provides a full 360-degree coverage of all maintenance and operations. This concession arrangement of full maintenance includes graffiti, posters and structure repair in addition to normal daily upkeep. We hire locally, bringing jobs to the DC area, making sure everyone on board at Oonee is committed to providing the best service possible to its users— and the cities we’re lucky enough to call home. That means we make sure the kiosks are spotless, there’s no debris or any damage that would otherwise render the kiosk undesirable. Since we aspire to ensure our kiosks add a benefit to the communities they’re found in, we make sure our kiosks are as attractive five years later as they were when they were installed. And our operational track record process as much. We have received no sanitation or maintenance complaints from all of the communities that an Oonee facility is found in. We have a stellar operations record and are happy to provide references to our partners.

7. Removal and relocation of pods: Each kiosk can be installed in as little as 12-36 hours with minimal disruption to existing site operations. We test all components to make sure they’re in good working order prior to opening the space to the public. Infrastructure can be removed in less than a day and requires no foundation.
